Ride To Land Of Unexplored To Explore (Thirthahalli and Surrounding places)
Ride was planned few days before and nothing as such was booked particularly, got the bike serviced and ready for the ride as usual...I don't get sleep the previous night of the ride because of the excitement.
Day 1- Morning 5:30am started the ride and headed towards Taj Vivanta as it was our start point to meet the other Rider's. We started the ride and badly needed a tea to start the day with our ride, so headed towards a coffee day on the hassan road before the hotel Mayura.
Had coffee at CCD and we had to stop again for Breakfast at Mayura which was 106kms from Bangalore exact at around 8am we headed to Towards Thirthahalli which was almost 231kms from that hotel. We took a diversion near Chenarayapatna towards Shimoga route, which was an awesome route.
This road made me to stop for photography as i have the passion for photography. It was like the roads were layed recently for us to ride. This feel did not make us tired, however we had to stop again as the humidity was high and we where getting dehydrated.
But had some oil leaks on of my friend's bike which was from the breather hoose, so cut the pipe where it was leaking and connected back with the clip, thought that is sorted and filled oil and started heading towards Shimoga for Lunch. It took almost another hour to reach Shimoga, we went into the city to have lunch before the bust stand. We had awesome lunch and were gearing up and we see there was a lot of oil leak from that same bike. Immediately we tried finding a local mechanic and the day we were riding was Bakrid. However, we finally found Pinto garage for repairing the bull. It was almost 3pm and we had to wait for the bike fixed till 6pm as the parts were supposed to be bought and the bike had an oil seal broken in the engine. We were tired and just wanted to reach the destination Thithahalli ASAP, so headed towards it which was around 60-70 kms from the location. It was dark and was lovely curves to enjoy the ride in night, but we missed the beautiful sceneries around that place as it was dark. We reached Thirthahalli with great difficulty around 7:30-8pm, called the homestay to get the exact location for Hi – Point homestay.
This homestay can accommodate very limited people as they have only 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms, no food. It is a very old building though well maintained rooms.
Day 2- We got up around 8am as all were tired and we wanted to have coffee and went to the local hotel for coffee which was very near to the place where we stayed and opposite to Kuvempu Statue.
After seeing the hot Idli's we got tempted to have Breakfast, finally had as we were hungry too. Yummy food to have around Thirthahalli no regrets to have pure veg. We then decided to get ready and to trek and explore Kavaledurga Fort.
This is how the roads to the fort was lovely and my friend was loving it to the core....
This is the top view after trekking almost 4-5kms of the fort lovely sceneries to view..
Fort is surrounded by the mountains.
This is the swimming pool where the queen used to swim.....but surprisingly the water tasted like Tulasi water, which made me drink.
Below picture was the house of our great poet Kuvempu.
This is his cemetery of Kuvempu.
This entrance was a bliss and this was the place where he used to sit and write poems.....now we know what made him a great poet:).
Greenery all around these places was lovely to ride through the agricultural fields.
Day 3- Started our return journey back to Bangalore which was around 337kms again, on the way we took a diversion to the jungle roads we found this beautiful sight of the river, we stopped as usual for photography.
It was awesome riding with my friend's in spite of having health issues, they accompanied for the ride.
Again we took a detour towards Bhadravathi dam and had some chai etc and continued to head towards Bangalore. We had rains while taking diversion towards Kunigal - Bangalore. We all reached home by 8pm safe drenched. Thanks to all my friend's to make this ride happen with an awesome memories and experiences.
Regards,
